The Ancient Magus’ Bride has been out of sight for quite some time, but it is finally set to make its return! Although the show will be premiering later in the year, a few special releases have already been made. Studio Kafka will be handling the show. The franchise series recently launched a three-episode anime. The manga has also previously led to a television anime adaptation that premiered in Japan in 2017. A prequel original video anime was also released in 2017. The creator, Kore Yamazaki, published the manga in Mag Garden’s Monthly Comic Blade magazine before moving to the publisher’s Monthly Comic Blade magazine, which is currently ongoing. The staff of the anime series recently released the first trailer for the second season, along with subtitles. The main visual and the cast for the series have also been revealed. The cast for the series includes Atsumi Tanezaki, Ryota Takeuchi, and Aya Endo in the roles of Chise, Elias Ainsworth, and Silky. Other cast members include Kotaro Nishiyama, Reina Ueda, and Daiki Kobayashi as Isaac Farrar, Veronica Rickenbacker, and Zoe Ivy, respectively.

Kazuaki Terasawa will also return from the first season to direct the series at Studio Kafka. Aya Takaha will also work on the scripts alongside Yoko Yonaiyama and Chiaki Nishinaka. Character designer Hirotaka Kato will also return to work on the character designs. Junichi Matsumoto will also be working on composing the music.

The Ancient Magus’ Bride Season 2 will adapt the manga’s Gakuin (College) arc. Many manga readers already know what this storyline is about. So, as per the updates that have come out, the new arc will revolve around how Chise accepts Elias, herself, and all aspects of her situation. She also goes back to her normal life after Cartaphilus falls into a deep slumber. There are chances that he might never come out of this phase in life.

She also receives an invitation from a mutual aid organization for mages known as the College. A secret society of mages exists underneath the British Library. For sure, many new characters and challenges will appear in this sequel. New encounters with new people might lead to new doors in the anime’s second season.

The show will premiere on April 6, 2023, at 10 pm JST. It will air on the BS11 channel in Japan and be available on Amazon Prime Video and Hikari TV.
