The latest chapter of the Boruto manga series has just been released worldwide, but chapter 72 will sadly be taking a one-month break.
Mondays are typically the most difficult day to get through as students and professionals alike face a full working week.
However, fans of the Boruto franchise are having a rather exciting start Monday, with the 71st chapter of the Naruto Next Generations manga having just launched around the world via Viz Media and Manga Plus to another fabulous global reception.
As fans from all corners of the globe read, digest and discuss “Nuisance”, it has sadly just been reported that the Boruto manga will be taking a short break next month before the release of chapter 72 – here’s everything you need to know.
Boruto going on break for a month is painful. Monthly manga isn’t fun at all
According to the latest reports online, the Boruto: Naruto Next Generations manga is sadly taking a break next month and will not release chapter 72 in the July issue of V Jump.
A specific reason for the delay has not yet been shared, but mangaka often take regular breaks from the hectic schedule of continuous writing/illustrating so that they can maintain their own health, as well as the quality of their series.
The good news is that the iconic franchise will return in the following issue of V Jump, with reports stating that Boruto chapter 72 will release in the August issue – which is expected to release on August 20th, although this has yet to be officially confirmed by either Viz Media or Manga Plus.

With the Boruto manga set to take a break for July, all of our attention will be solely focused on the ongoing anime series.
The biggest news concerning Studio Pierrot’s adaptation is that the series is about to receive a brand-new opening theme song and animation.
As revealed in Issue 28 of the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, via Anime News Network, the new opening will be titled “Kirarirari” and is performed by KANA-BOON. If that name sounds recognisable, that’s because KANA-BOON also performed the very first opening theme song for the Boruto anime as well as for the 2015 feature movie.
The new ending theme song is titled “Biboroku” by Lenny Code Fiction, who have previously performed the My Hero Academia season 3 and Fire Force openings.
Both new tracks will feature in July’s broadcast, but a specific episode number has not yet been shared.
Whilst the majority of anime fans are watching each new episode as they are simulcast on Crunchyroll around the world, many are also waiting patiently for the next DVD launch.
In Japan, the 58th DVD (episode 227-229) is scheduled for July 6th and the 59th (230-232) on August 3rd – with the collected 13th boxset (episodes 221-232) to release on August 3rd.
In North America, Viz Media are set to launch DVD Volume 13 on September 6th, this two-disc boxset will include episodes 177-189.
Madman Entertainment is set to release their 12th DVD boxset in Australia and New Zealand on August 3rd – the three-disc launch will include episodes 156-176.
