Following up on its initial reveal last month, Netflix and the series' official website have come through with more details on Junji Ito Maniac: Tales of the Macabre. Ito previously stated that he picked 20 stories to be adapted into anime for the first time, five of which have just been announced along with some of the cast members.

Cast members, stories and stills revealed thus far include Takahiro Sakurai (Giyu Tomioka in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba) as Kazuya Hikizuri and Romi Park (Hange Zoë in Attack on Titan) as Kiko Hizukuri, who star in "The Strange Hikizuri Siblings: The Séance."
Yoko Hikasa (Farnese in Berserk) as Chiemi in "The Long Hair in the Attic."
Hisako Kanemoto (Erina Nakiri in Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma) as Sayoko in "Unbearable Labyrinth."
Natsumi Takamori (Sasha Staple in Bodacious Space Pirates) as Kuriko in "The Bully."
The series will also adapt "Den of the Sleep Demon," which appeared in the 10th volume of the Horror World of Junji Ito collection.
Look for Junji Ito Maniac: Tales of the Macabre to premiere on Netflix sometime in 2023. Ito's work previously inspired the Junji Ito Collection anime in 2018, and an adaptation of his Uzumaki manga is currently in the works.
