Resident Evil showrunner Andrew Dabb confirms a major character from the video games will appear in Season 2 of the Netflix series.
The following article contains spoilers for Resident Evil Season 1, Episode 8, "Revelations," streaming now on Netflix.
Resident Evil showrunner Andrew Dabb has confirmed that following the Season 1 finale's major tease, a fan-favorite character from the original video games will indeed be appearing in Season 2 of the Netflix series.
"Revelations," the eighth and final episode of Netflix's Resident Evil Season 1, ends on the 2022 portion of the show's dual narrative. Jade (Tamara Smart) and Billie Wesker (Siena Agudong) are seen leaving New Raccoon City with Bert Wesker (Lance Reddick), one of the three clones of Dr. Albert Wesker. Prior to their departure, Jade and Billie were given a note by their now-deceased adoptive father and creator, Al Wesker (another one of Albert's clones), instructing them to seek out one Ada Wong. While speaking with Screen Rant, Dabb assured that Ada would "100 percent" be making an appearance in Resident Evil Season 2.

A mysterious spy, Ada Wong first appeared in the 1998 video game Resident Evil 2, subsequently appearing in the epilogue files of 1999's Resident Evil 3: Nemesis. From there, Ada became a staple of the franchise, appearing in the beloved Resident Evil 4, as well as Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles and Resident Evil 6.
Ada Wong made her live-action debut in the 2012 film Resident Evil: Retribution — the fifth and penultimate entry in Sony's initial Resident Evil film series — in which she was played by Li Bingbing. Lily Gao later made a cameo as Ada in Sony's 2021 reboot film Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City as part of a mid-credits scene. Outside of live-action, the character appeared in the 2012 CG-animated film Resident Evil: Damnation, in which she was voiced by Courtenay Taylor in English and Junko Minagawa in Japanese. It remains to be seen who will play Ada in the second season of Netflix's Resident Evil.

The live-action Netflix series dropped the entirety of its eight-episode first season on Thursday, July 14. The series follows the aforementioned Jade Wesker, played as a teenager by Smart and as an adult by Ella Balinska. It features two main plotlines, one taking place in 2022 and another set in 2036. Netflix's Resident Evil is the streaming giant's second major project based on the video game franchise of the same name, following the 2021 CG anime limited series Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness.
Resident Evil Season 1 is currently streaming on Netflix.
